Ok, so further to my previous post…
Here I am several days later, and a number of key priorities have not been accomplished on schedule. How can this be? Is dragging the trash can out to the curb on time more important than all of the success activities on my list? No way! So – obviously I’m missing something.
Urgency is one of the cardinal keys to success. This is talked about repeatedly by nearly all success gurus, and demonstrated by nearly all high achieving individuals. So where is mine?
Obviously, the prospect of missing the garbage pick-up created an immediate and clear sense of urgency that literally propelled me out of bed the other day, had me whirling around the house emptying garbage and recycling containers, and dragging the whole lot up the long driveway to the curb. And the adrenalin rush and momentum continued on to promote a pretty successful day – in terms of number of items accomplished.
So how do I replicate that same sense of urgency for the infinitely more important daily tasks that will propel me to the heights of success I desire and am capable of achieving? When I find the answer to this question – and fully implement it / make it a habit – that’s when success is bound to happen faster than I ever dreamed possible!
This will be my quest for the merry month of May.
